This magnificent church stood at the City entrance to old London Bridge until the bridge was replaced upstream in the 1880's. The original Church of St Magnus the Martyr was built in 1176; after the Great Fire of London in 1666, Sir Christopher Wren rebuilt the church on the same site. Today it stands as an impressive example of an ecclesiastical building in the Anglo-Catholic tradition.
