Havengore Voted One of Top 10 Coolest Venues

In it’s first full year of operation Havengore is delighted to have been voted a Prestige Events 2007 COOL Venue Winner.  Said Simon West, Managing Director of Havengore,  “To be recognised by the industry after such a short period is fantastic.  Havengore is a real historic vessel but that’s not enough to make it a great venue.  It’s everything that goes round this like our excellent service, innovative bowl food menus and personalised itineraries that make her a great venue.”

The COOL Venues Awards were developed by Prestige Events magazine to recognise an unsung but influential element that emerges in the process of planning a corporate event – How exciting is the venue? Will the invitees RSVP? Will they turn up? 

Making a difference
Over the years, Prestige Events magazine has tried to identify for its readers, venues which will make the difference. Since its launch in 2003, it has become evident that there is a developing trend for corporate event organisers to seek newer and off-the-trodden-path venues. Prestige Events magazine, characterised by its unique design that sets itself apart from the competition, has set its editorial compass on what is COOL. The barometer should not be biased towards all that is ‘new’ in their opinion. There is a place for the classic/heritage venue. They often possess a character, charisma, and class that many ‘newer’ builds cannot yet match.   So what is COOL? A COOL venue should have: Charisma, Originality, Style, Innovation, Sex Appeal, Authenticity, and Uniqueness.  COOL is a very personal opinion. Therefore, a panel of judges was selected to form a council.  Each understood the intrinsic factors, elements and characteristics that deem a venue to be COOL. 

About Havengore
In January 1965, following the death of Sir Winston Churchill, Havengore was given her greatest honour. Watched live by a worldwide audience of 350million, she carried his coffin from Tower Pier to Festival Pier as part of his state funeral.  For the next 30 years, she continued to serve the Port of London Authority as its flagship and survey vessel until she was sold ten years ago. 

Restored
Havengore has now been completely and sympathetically restored and provides exclusive and prestigious hospitality opportunities from her base in London’s Docklands.  Havengore is available for exclusive sailing charter for up to 30 passengers and moored events for up to 60 guests.
