LondonMICE is a not for profit organisation funded by the London Development Agency (LDA). Our aim is to help promote and support the companies we list (our members) and to encourage greater co-operation between them. We do this in a number of ways: by
Currently our directory lists over 1500 companies from all over the London area who offer a varied range of services aimed at the MICE industry. Our membership includes; event organisers, venues, contract caterers, audio visual companies, hotels, florists, production houses, entertainers, printers, copywriters, transportation services, tour guides and much more. In fact our membership is so diverse it is almost impossible to encapsulate all the different organisations in just a few words.
We are also proud to have won an International Economic Development Council award in respect of Economic Development of Cluster-Based strategies in September 2005.
In case you wondered what the acronym MICE stands for it’s - Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions and has absolutely nothing to do with rodents!
History
LondonMICE was set up in 2004 to initially promote businesses in London South Central (LSC) working in business tourism, better known as the MICE industry. The idea behind London MICE is that by working together, firms can boost their own performance, win more business for the local area and create more jobs. Since 2005, members from all over London and those providing services to London events have been welcomed.
LondonMICE was developed as part of the City Growth Strategy initiative funded by the LDA and the Small Business Service and launched by then UK Chancellor Gordon Brown in October 2003.
