Founded in 1992, Blendon Communications Ltd. is a magazine publisher and exhibition organiser. This former Inner City 100 winner's excellent form continues with a turnover rising 409 per cent from £971,895 in the year ending 1997 to nearly £5 million in the year ending 2001. The business was originally located in London's overcrowded and expensive West End, but relocated to new premises in a converted warehouse in Bermondsey, South East London. The new location is peaceful, relatively free of congestion and provides the company vital proximity to central London. Chief executive, Derek Smith, claims the secret to success is to work hard and delegate to hand-picked staff.
